About

We put agents in the gaps between your systems.

Splice Work is a small team in California that builds AI agents for businesses running on ordinary software: an accounting system, a CRM, a phone line, an inbox. We are not a platform you have to move onto. We work inside what you already run.

Why we exist

Most of the manual work in a small business is not the work itself. It is the handoff between systems: retyping an order that arrived by email, turning a phone call into a record, chasing an invoice that a person already knows is late.

Software vendors solve this by asking you to move onto their platform. That means a migration, a retraining, and a year of paying for two systems. For a business with ten or fifty people, the cure costs more than the disease.

So we took the other route. Keep the systems. Put an agent in the gap.

How we work

We start by watching the work, not by demoing a product. A week of seeing where the hours actually go tells us more than any discovery questionnaire.

Then we build one agent for one job, connect it to your accounts through their real APIs, and run it with a person approving anything customer-facing or financial. When you trust it, you loosen the leash.

  • One agent, one job. Easier to trust, test and switch off than a platform that does everything badly.
  • Fixed prices. Discovery, build and a monthly run fee, with nothing on an hourly meter.
  • You keep the code. If you stop working with us, the agent and its documentation stay yours.
  • Every agent runs in production on real work before we offer it to anyone.

What we will not do

We say no more often than a sales team would like, because the wrong first project is how these efforts die.

  • We will not sell you an agent for a job that needs judgment, taste or negotiation. AI can draft those. It should not decide them.
  • We will not run an agent unattended on day one. Approval steps come off when the numbers earn it, not when the contract starts.
  • We will not tell you to replace software that is working. If the honest answer is a report or a Zapier automation, that is the answer you get.
  • We will not train models on your data. We use hosted models through their business APIs, and your data stays in your accounts.

Where we are

We are based in California and work with businesses across the United States. Most engagements run remotely, because the work lives in your systems rather than your office.

Questions we get asked

How big is a typical customer?

Five to a hundred people, usually with no IT department. Below that, the manual work is rarely worth automating yet. Above it, you probably have an internal team and a different set of problems.

Do you work with any industry?

Any business where the same job happens every day and the rules mostly fit on a page. In practice that has meant trades and field service, professional offices, and distribution.

What happens if an agent gets something wrong?

It is caught at the approval step, and the log shows what the agent read and why it acted. We fix the rule, add a test, and the fix ships to everyone running that agent.

How do we start?

A 30-minute call about the job that eats your week. You will get a straight answer on whether an agent can take it, including no when that is the answer.

Show us one workflow. We'll show you the agent for it.

A 30-minute walkthrough on your actual systems, not a demo account. No deck.
