AI consulting for small business

You don't need an AI strategy. You need someone to look at how your business actually runs, point at the three jobs an agent should be doing, and then build them. That is the whole engagement.

Who this is for

  • Owner-led companies with 5 to 100 people and no IT department
  • Businesses that already live in QuickBooks, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Slack or Airtable
  • Teams where one person is the bottleneck for invoices, follow-ups, order entry or the phone
  • Anyone who has tried a chatbot or a Zapier zap and found it didn't finish the job

What a small business AI consultant should actually do

Most AI consulting for small business is a workshop and a slide deck. You leave with a roadmap and a list of tools, and nothing runs. We start from the other end: we sit with the person who does the work, watch a week of it, and write down where the hours go.

Then we rank those jobs by how much time they eat and how safely an agent can take them over. You get a short list with real numbers, not a vision statement.

  • A written map of the manual work in your business, by person and by hour
  • The two or three jobs worth automating first, and why
  • A fixed-price proposal to build and run the first agent
  • A clear line on what stays with a human

We build on the systems you already run

Our consultants are the people who write the agents. When we recommend something, it's because we've built it and run it in our own company, not because a vendor pays a referral.

Splice grew out of Monarch Connected, a security systems company in California. Monarch's Salesforce, QuickBooks, BILL, Gmail and Slack are the first place every one of our agents ran.

  • Salesforce and QuickBooks Online for quotes, orders, invoices and accounting
  • BILL and Stripe for getting paid
  • Google Workspace, Gmail and Slack for the conversations around the work
  • Airtable and spreadsheets for everything that never got a proper system

Small business AI solutions that keep a human in charge

An agent that sends the wrong invoice or books the wrong appointment costs more than the hours it saved. So every agent we build has an approval step by default: it drafts, a person clicks approve, and only then does anything leave the building.

As you trust it, you loosen the leash. Nothing changes about how your team works until you decide it should.

What it costs

Discovery is a fixed fee, scoped on the first call. Building an agent is a fixed project price. Running it is a monthly fee that covers hosting, monitoring, and a person on our side who reads the logs.

We'll publish price ranges on this site. Until then, ask, and you'll get a straight number in the first conversation.

Questions we get asked

Do I need to change software to work with you?

No. The point of Splice is to add an AI layer to the software you already run. If we think a tool should change, we'll say so, but it's never the starting assumption.

How is this different from hiring an AI automation agency?

Most agencies sell builds and move on. We run what we build, on a monthly fee, and our own company is the first customer of every agent. If it breaks at 2 a.m., we find out before you do.

How big does my business need to be?

Our sweet spot is 5 to 100 people. Below that, the manual work usually isn't worth automating yet. Above that, you probably have an IT team and a different set of problems.

What does a first project usually look like?

One job, end to end. After-hours phone answering, invoice follow-up, or pulling order data out of PDFs and emails into QuickBooks. Something a person does every day that an agent can do with an approval step.

Will you sign an NDA and work inside our accounts?

Yes. We work in your Salesforce, QuickBooks, Google Workspace and Slack with scoped credentials you control, and we document every permission we ask for.

Tell us the job that keeps eating your week.

Thirty minutes. We'll tell you whether an agent can take it, what it would touch, and what it would cost. No deck.
